Maersk Norfolk Grounding

To customers with cargo onboard 'Maersk Norfolk' v. 1802

 

Update January 8th

Dear customer,

Our vessel 'Maersk Norfolk' that ran aground off Alexandria, Egypt, on voyage 1802 towards Mersin, Turkey, on 2nd January 2018 is now safely anchored in Port of Alexandria and has this morning discharged all containers.

Due to the delay, contingency plans have been initiated for all cargo to enable further movement, however please be aware that there is no damage to any containers. Impacted customers have been informed and will be updated directly from our Customer Service team.

Update January 2nd

Dear customer,

We regret to inform you that on 2nd January 2018, the vessel 'Maersk Norfolk' voyage 1802 ran aground off Alexandria, Egypt, on departure towards Mersin, Turkey.

No damage to the containers or pollution have been reported. However, the damage to the vessel needs to be assessed. We are currently preparing plans to refloat the vessel and safely bring her to the nearest port for assessment.

In case of delay, contingency plan to on-carry the onboard containers will be initiated, and all impacted customers will be duly informed directly from our Customer Service team.
